Adult Ministries at St. Timothy's
An intelligent heart acquires knowledge, and the ear of the wise seeks knowledge. Proverbs 18:15 (ESV)
At St. Timothy's there are a variety of ways that adults can be involved in Christian education.
Each Sunday during our fellowship time after services there are book and movie libraries to borrow materials from.
Throughout the year there are usually two or three opportunities to attend workshops and conferences on a variety of topics such as prayer, spiritual disciplines and studying the Bible.
At least once a year there is a "parish-wide" study where each member of the congregation is encouraged to attend weekly small group meetings, where there will be discussion and study of the Sunday sermon series in more depth.
Each member is invited and encouraged to become a member of a small group bible study, which usually meet on a weekly basis in a member's home.
During Advent (time of preparation before Christmas) and Lent (40 day period before Easter) there are devotional books and studies available to encourage us to draw closer to God in these important times in the Christian calendar. For many years now at St. Timothy's adults and children have contributed their own stories and artwork, which have been used to produce our own Advent devotional.
Two or three times a year all the Men are invited to meet for breakfast fellowship and also to hear a guest speaker.
Also during the year, in addition to their business meetings, the Ladies invite guest speakers on a wide variety of topics.
