Pastoral Care at St. Timothy's
Religion that is pure and undefiled before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction and to keep oneself unstained by the world James 1:27 (ESV)
A church can do many things and run many programs but if it does not reach our and care and pray for the sick, the weak, the needy, the lonely, the elderly and those on the margins then it is not doing the ministry of Church (the ongoing incarnation of Christ on earth).
St. Timothy's Pastoral Care team does a wonderful job of visiting and keeping in touch with those who are sick, confined to their homes or a hospital bed as well as those going through life transitions such as births, marriage, death, loss of jobs and so on.
It is our hope and prayer that all visits will ensure that our church family knows they are remembered and loved even if they are unable to attend on a Sunday morning.
When God commands us to 'honour our mother and father' he does not mean that we have to do what they say. He means that we are to give honour and glory to those who by age, sickness or situation are beyond their years of honour. This is what this amazing team does. Thank God
